Battarok didn't become a mighty Invoker by doing great deeds. He did it by collecting mushrooms. Well, and smashing a cabal of necromancer ghosts with a magic pillar. He hasn’t really stopped the ghost-smashing, and now that stone pillar has a whole lot of ghosts in it. It suits Battarok just fine.
